Covid have your delinquency down? What's next for Credit Union Collectors?
Credit Unions have seen unusual low delinquency during the pandemic. As factors such as inflation, product availability and other pandemic
issues affect lending, will we see a spill over into collections in 2022 and beyond? We have enjoyed a period of high resale values for
repossessed autos during most of 2021 due to the chip shortage but how will these rising values and the loans being made in 2021 and 2022
affect the next batch of repossessions as delinquency levels begin to rise? Have you seen Open houses in your neighborhood where a newly
listed home bring 20-30 potential buyers and 10+ offers above asking price. How will this negatively impact future foreclosures as some of
these new homeowners are most certainly starting off over their head financially. Finally, your borrower was delinquent due to Covid.
Do you understand your Credit Union wants to make this same member their same auto loan (at the right price of course).
